The Vivo X Fold 5 is noted for being slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, the X3 Pro, giving it a feel similar to a standard smartphone. It comes in a premium titanium gray color and has an IP58 and IP59 durability rating, which the reviewer describes as the best on any book-style foldable they have tested. Display
The phone features two displays:
- Outer Display: A 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution.
- Inner Display: An 8.03-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K+ resolution. Both displays have a peak brightness of 4,500 nits for HDR content and support Dolby Vision HDR on Netflix.
Performance and Battery
The Vivo X Fold 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It has a large 6,000 mAh battery, which is the biggest is seen in a book-style foldable. The phone delivered an impressive 12 hours of screen-on time during a light usage test. It supports 80W wired charging, which can fully charge the phone in about 50 to 53 minutes, and 40W wireless charging.
Cameras
The phone has a triple-camera setup on the rear, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP periscope camera with 3x optical zoom. It also has two 20MP selfie cameras, one on each display. The camera performance is praised for capturing detailed photos with natural skin tones and sharp textures.
Software
The phone runs on FunTouch OS 15, based on Android 15. It is promised to receive 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates. The software includes several AI features, such as an AI meeting assistant, AI eraser, and Circle to Search with Google Gemini support.
