On the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, July 10th, the atmosphere at Kartar Memorial Senior Secondary School in Hisar, Haryana, was shattered by a shocking act of violence. Jagbir Singh, the school principal, was brutally murdered, allegedly by two of his own students.
The Horrific Incident
According to the report, two students from the 11th and 12th grades called Principal Jagbir Singh out of his office, claiming they needed to talk to him. They led him to a secluded area, away from the school’s CCTV cameras . In a sudden act of violence, one of the students pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed the principal. The attackers then fled the scene, leaving the principal to die. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival .
Motive and Investigation
The initial police investigation suggests the students’ motive was retaliation for being disciplined. The principal had reportedly asked them to follow school rules, such as wearing the proper uniform and getting a haircut . The police have identified the students, filed a murder case, and seized the murder weapon .
A Disturbing Twist
The case took a dark turn when a video surfaced on social media. In the video, the students claimed to have “finished the job” and, even more chillingly, threatened the principal’s son, demanding a ransom of 10 lakh rupees . This has raised suspicions of a possible link to a local gang . The police are currently investigating the authenticity of the video and the students’ potential gang affiliations .
This tragic event leaves many unanswered questions:
- Was the motive for the murder simply a punishment for disciplinary action, or was there a deeper, more sinister reason?
- Was the threatening video a genuine demand for money or just an act to instill fear?
- How could a simple request to follow school rules escalate to such a violent act?
The community is in shock, grappling with the senseless violence that claimed the life of a respected educator.
